You are shown multiply stories throughout the movie, making you wonder what truly the truth is in this twisted tale.

Summary:

The movie begins with an U.S marshal, Teddy Daniels (Leonardo DiCaprio) as he is assigned to investigate the disappearance of a patient, Rachel, with his partner Chuck Aule (Mark Ruffalo) from Boston's Shutter Island Ashcliffe Hospital – which takes only the most dangerous patients created by Dr. Cawley (Ben Kingsley) and Dr Kingsley (Dr. Naethring). Teddy Daniels, wanted this assignment for personal reasons, but soon finds he might have been brought here because of a twisted plot by the hospital doctors whose radical treatments range from unethical to illegal to downright sinister, or at least so he believes. His investigation skills give him what he thinks is a promising lead, though the hospital refuses to grant him access to some records which would help his case tremendously.

Thought the story we are shown flashbacks playing in Teddy’s mind, revealing his past life in the war, making us more curious about this character.

The power is soon shut off due to a huge hurricane causing many dangerous patients or as to Teddy criminals, adding to the confusion, as the puzzling clues to this movie, multiply.

Teddy begins to doubt everything, from his memory, partner, even his own sanity and past.

But soon the truth is revealed, sharing something not many would have guessed to be the truth.

Movie Review : Shutter Island

This movie is one no one shall ever forget because of the twisted novel written by Dennis Lehane, and the movie written by Laeta Kalogridis and directed by Martin Scorsese, this journey makes you think more, and begin to wonder what is real and what is simply an act. It is a movie for most to enjoy as it puzzles your mind so very well.
